British Red Cross Youth Education aims to build humane and resilient communities by enabling young people to understand, cope with and respond to crisis. Our focus is on the crises caused by the harmful effects of emergencies, stigmatising behaviour and conflict. We explore the following topics: disasters, emergencies, first aid, refugees, migration, conflict and consequences, and humanitarianism. We have a variety of innovative and interactive resources available online to educators who interact with young people aged 6-19 years old. We also work directly with young people in Northern Ireland, focusing on areas where they are most at risk of identified crises or the harmful effects of crisis in relation to stigma, conflict and emergencies. Our education programmes are delivered throughout Belfast and Derry/Londonderry in a range of youth settings and schools.
