For Anti-Bullying Week 2016, St Comgall's Primary School decided to focus on equality, diversity and friendship. P7 made a colourful video centred on these themes using Adobe Spark, a free online tool. Narrated by the pupils themselves, the short clip explores equality and diversity by showing how things would look if the world’s massive population was shrunk down to a representative village containing only 100 people. How many of the people in this village would be women? How many would have access to clean water? How many would have shelter? Watch the video here to find out the answers!
The world as a village is a popular educational concept because it can help even very young children understand how diverse and complex our world is. You can find lots of resources simply by googling the phrase. Some useful statistics are available here.
